Business Sectors
Housing
The Housing sector holds archives from a variety of departments in a wide number of formats, some of a sensitive nature which require special handling.
We can be asked to scan, digitise and index anything from HR Personnel files, Tenant records, Maintenance files to Financial documents, often in large quantities. Once recorded, files may be returned via our secure fleet of vans, stored by us or securely destroyed.
Transmedia's optical character recognition software to searchable PDF files or image scanning to digital archive can all be utilised to convert data to manageable digital files.
Local Government
As with health services, Local Government document archive management is complex and subject to privacy and other regulations.
Electronic document archiving can cut costs by making it easier for officials to locate the information they need, whether that be planning applications, staff employment records or infrastructure maintenance.
We have the facility and manpower to cope with large archives running to hundreds of thousands of documents if required. Projects can run over periods of months or even years as the customer demands, and we have long term customers for whom we have covered several different departments' requirements.
It does not matter whether the documents are large plans or on a microfiche, Transmedia have the data conversion technology to provide a solution.
Manufacturing
As with any business the manufacturing industry produces huge numbers of hardcopy pages in the performance of their day-to-day operations.
These may take the form of purchase invoice ledgers, order books, personnel records or working drawings and plans of their products. These are often security sensitive and require appropriate handling.
We can help a business lessen the need for storage space by digitising and securely managing their files and also storing them or destroying the originals if required.
Document databases can be produced from scanned materials where indexed files can be retrieved quickly and easily as and when they are needed.
Oil & Energy
The Oil and Energy industries generate an enormous amount of paperwork from purchase ledger invoices and personnel files to plans, drawings and logs. Oil well logs can take the form of drawings which are many metres long and we handle these with our large format scanners.
Transmedia provide scanning of paperwork, complex OCR data capture and indexing to databases. We can store or securely destroy the originals and keep copies of the scanned data at our secure premises. Alternatively material can be collected and returned via our own secure fleet of vans.
The large volume of diverse material typically generated by this business sector is not an issue for our experienced staff and well established systems.
Publishing
The publishing industry can take many forms from newspaper and magazines to books, archives and image libraries.
One of our clients in this field required us to scan and index 20,000 photographic slides a month for three years and to provide spreadsheets of the information gathered and store secure backups.
Another project involved digitising a wide variety of papers from newspaper clippings to personal letters in order to capture optical character recognition data to form an index and search facility.
Our image and document scanning capacity and experienced staff mean we can consistently cope with requests of this nature within budget and on time.
