  Gofal, Dysgu a Datblygiad Plant
Pam astudio Gofal, Dysgu a Datblygiad Plant?
Fe fydd y dysgwyr yn astudio'r lefel 2 Craidd ym mlwyddyn 12 a'r lefel 3 theori ac ymarfer ym mlwyddyn 13. Bydd y cymhwyster hwn yn galluogi dysgwyr i feithrin y wybodaeth a’r sgiliau sydd eu hangen i gael gwaith mewn gyrfa mewn lleoliadau gofal plant neu iechyd. Mae’n cyfuno unedau ymarfer sy’n cael eu hasesu yn y gweithle gyda gwybodaeth ddamcaniaethol ychwanegol. Mae 700 awr o ddysgu yn y gwaith ar gyfer y lleoliad gwaith yn ofyniad ar gyfer y cwrs hwn.
Ymhlith y testunau fydd dysgwyr yn astudio yw;
• cefnogi ymarfer craidd ym maes gofal, chwarae, dysgu a datblygiad plant
• cefnogi chwarae, dysgu, twf a datblygiad
• cefnogi maeth a hydradiad yn y blynyddoedd cynnar
• ymateb i arwyddion o afiechyd a phlâu/heintiau posibl
• iechyd, llesiant a datblygiad plant, 0-19 mlwydd oed a
ffactorau sy’n cefnogi iechyd, llesiant a datblygiad
• rôl a gwerth y gwasanaethau gofal cymdeithasol, addysg ac iechyd sydd ar gael yng Nghymru i gefnogi anghenion gofal,
iechyd, llesiant a datblygiad plant
Drwy gwblhau’r cymhwyster hwn, bydd dysgwyr yn gallu dangos eu bod yn:
• deall ac yn gallu defnyddio’n ymarferol, yr egwyddorion a’r gwerthoedd sy’n sail i ofal, chwarae, dysgu a datblygiad plant
• deall, ac yn gallu defnyddio’n ymarferol, dulliau plant- ganolog i ofal, chwarae a dysgu
• hybu a chefnogi datblygiad plant drwy eu hymarfer eu hunain
• gallu gwerthuso ymchwil a damcaniaethau i gefnogi ymarfer
• ymwybodol o bolisïau allweddol yn y sector a sut mae’r rhain yn effeithio ar ddatblygu a darparu gwasanaethau
• gallu gweithio mewn partneriaeth â phlant, eu teuluoedd, gofalwyr ac amrywiaeth o weithwyr proffesiynol
• gallu myfyrio ar ymarfer i barhau i wella
• defnyddio amrywiaeth o dechnegau datrys problemau
• gallu defnyddio sgiliau llythrennedd, rhifedd a
chymhwysedd digidol fel sy’n briodol yn eu rôl.
Asesu
Asesir Blwyddyn 12 trwy 90% o asesiad mewnol a 10% o asesiad allanol a Blwyddyn 13 trwy 70% o asesiad mewnol a 30% o asesiad allanol. Rhaid i ymgeiswyr gwblhau’r canlynol yn llwyddiannus;
• cyfres o dasgau wedi’u gosod yn allanol a’u marcio’n fewnol
• portffolio o dystiolaeth
• trafodaeth â’u haseswr
• arholiad allanol
• ymchwiliad estynedig wedi’i osod a’i farcio’n allanol.
Why study Children’s Care, Learning and Development?
Students will study the level 2 Core in year 12 and the level 3 theory and practise in year 13. The qualification provides practice and theory upskilling to level 3 standard for learners who wish to enter the early years workplace. The course balances a mixture of theory and practical to develop the learner in all areas of early years practice. 700 hours of on-the-job learning for the work placement is a requirement for this course.
The content covers:
• the principles and values of children’s care, play,
• learning and development
• health, well-being, learning and development
• professional practice as an early years and
• childcare worker
• safeguarding children
• health and safety in children’s care, play, learning and
development
By completing this qualification, learners will be able to demonstrate that they:
• understand, and apply in practice, the principles and values which underpin children’s care, play, learning and development
• understand, and apply, in practice, child-centred approaches to care, play and learning
• can promote and support child development through their own practice
• can evaluate research and theories to support practice
• are aware of key policies within the sector and how
these affect service development and delivery
• can work in partnership with children, their families,
carers and a range of professionals
• can reflect on practice to continuously improve
• can apply a range of problem-solving techniques
• use literacy, numeracy and digital competency skills as
appropriate within their role.
Assessment
The qualification is assessed in Year 12 through 90% internal assessment and 10% external assessment and Year 13 through 70% internal assessment and 30% external assessment.
Students must successfully complete:
• an externally set, internally marked set of tasks
• a portfolio of evidence
• a discussion with their assessor
• an external examination
• an externally set and marked extended investigation.
