What else do I need to know?
Gwisg y Chweched
Disgwylir i fyfyrwyr y Chweched sicrhau’r safonau gorau o ran gwisg eu hysgol gartref. Manylion y wisg yw:
• Trowsus neu sgert ddu, crys/crys a thei a siwmper yr ysgol gartref.
• Esgidiau duon (dim flip-flops neu sandalau blaenagored)
Prynir y wisg ysgol o’r canolfannau arferol - Gŵyr - “The School Uniform Shop”, Tycoch a Bryn Tawe o Bergoni, Llansamlet.
Canolfannau Astudio’r Chweched Dosbarth
a’r Lolfa
Mae gan y ddwy ysgol Ganolfannau Astudio ar gyfer y Chweched Dosbarth. Bydd y ddwy ganolfan ar gael i fyfyrwyr y Bartneriaeth ar gyfer ymchwilio,astudio a gweithio’n annibynnol. Gellir defnyddio’r cyfrifiaduron ar gyfer archwilio’r we. Bydd disgwyl i fyfyrwyr y Chweched glustnodi gwersi astudio ar eu hamserlen a gwneud defnydd llawn o’r Ganolfan Astudio. Mae Lolfa’r Chweched yn ganolfan ar gyfer ymlacio a chymdeithasu yn ystod gwersi penodol. Bydd croeso i fyfyrwyr y Bartneriaeth wneud defnydd llawn o Lolfa’r naill ysgol a’r llall. Bydd ffreutur y ddwy ysgol hefyd ar agor at ddefnydd myfyrwyr y Bartneriaeth.
Lwfans Cynnal Addysg (LCA)
Bydd cyfle i unrhyw aelod o’r Chweched geisio am y lwfans sydd yn ddibynnol ar gyflog rhieni.
Os yn gymwys:
• Rhoddir lwfans i fyfyrwyr yn syth i mewn i gyfrif banc pob pythefnos.
• Bydd myfyrwyr ond yn derbyn lwfans os ydy’r ysgol yn fodlon gyda phresenoldeb, gwaith academaidd ac ymddygiad y myfyriwr
Cludiant o fewn y Bartneriaeth
Os yw myfyrwyr yn astudio pwnc/pynciau a ddysgir yn yr ysgol bartner, bydd y trefniadau cludiant fel a ganlyn:-
• Dylai myfyrwyr fynychu’r ysgol gartref yn y ffordd
arferol ar ddechrau’r dydd.
• Trefnir bws gwennol i gludo myfyrwyr, rhwng y ddwy
ysgol.
• Ar ddiwedd y dydd, bydd pob myfyriwr/ myfyrwraig yn
dychwelyd i’w h/ysgol gartref ar gyfer cludiant adref.
• Os ydy myfyrwyr yn bwriadu defnyddio dulliau teithio
personol rhwng ysgolion e.e. cludo gan riant, mae’n
bwysig rhoi gwybod i’r ysgol gartref.
• Os yw myfyrwyr yn defnyddio eu ceir/beiciau modur
personol yn rheolaidd i deithio i’r ysgol rhaid rhoi gwybod i Chweched ynglyn â’r trefniadau hyn er mwyn i fyfyrwyr dderbyn canllawiau pellach, yn enwedig am barcio.
Sixth Form Dress Code
Sixth form students are expected to maintain the highest possible standard of uniform which is as follows:
• Black trousers/skirt, home school shirt/shirt and tie and jumper.
• Black shoes (no flip flops or open toed sandals)
The Gŵyr Sixth Form uniform is available from “The School Uniform Shop”, Tycoch. The Bryn Tawe uniform is available from Bergoni, Llansamlet.
Sixth Form Learning Centres and Common Room
Both schools have a Learning Centre for the Sixth Form. Both Centres are available for students within the Partnership for independent research and study time. Computers are located in the Learning Centres with access to the internet. Students in the Sixth Form are expected to allocate free lessons as study periods on their timetable in order to make full use of the Study Centre. The Common Room is a centre for relaxing and socialising during free lessons not allocated as study periods. Students in the Partnership are welcome to use the Common Room at both schools. The canteens at both schools are open all day to all students from the Partnership.
Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
All students of the Sixth Form are able to apply for an EMA grant which is means tested.
The conditions of the allowance are:
• The allowance is paid directly into the students’ bank account each fortnight.
• Students will receive the allowance only if the schools are satisfied with their attendance, academic work and behaviour.
Transport within the Partnership
If a student studies a subject/subjects taught in a partner school, the transport arrangements will be as follows:
• Student attends the home school in the usual manner at the beginning of the day.
• A shuttle bus will be provided to transport students from one campus to the other.
• All students will be returned to their home school by the end of the day and transported home in the usual manner.
• If students intend to use personal modes of transport between schools e.g. a lift by a parent, it is important that the home school is notified.
• If students decide to travel to school by car or motorcycle regularly, the Head of Sixth Form at the home school should be informed so that they can receive further guidance, especially regarding parking.
