Sut ydym yn medru cefnogi myfyrwyr y Chweched Dosbarth?
Mae’r ysgolion yn gwneud ymdrech arbennig i gynorthwyo aelodau’r Chweched Dosbarth i ddewis cyrsiau a phynciau addas.
Hefyd, yn ystod y flwyddyn gyntaf yn y Chweched, caiff y myfyrwyr gyfarwyddyd manwl ar sut i addasu i’r newidiadau academaidd a chymdeithasol a ddaw i’w rhan wrth ddod yn aelodau o’r Chweched. Y Tiwtor Dosbarth sydd ar gael i gynorthwyo ac arwain y myfyriwr tra bydd Mentor y BAC yn cynnal sesiynau rheolaidd i fonitro cynnydd myfyrwyr y Chweched. Mae rhaglen ABCh eang hefyd yn helpu i gefnogi datblygiad y myfyrwyr ac yn eu paratoi ar gyfer prifysgol, gwaith , prentisiaethau a rhaglenni blwyddyn allan. Defnyddir Cynghorydd yr ysgol i roi arweiniad i’r rheini sy’n profi unrhyw anawsterau neu ansicrwydd yn eu bywydau.
Darperir gwasanaeth eang o arweiniad gyrfaol a galwedigaethol gan yr ysgolion. Y mae’r Cynghorydd Gyrfaoedd yn gweithio yn agos gyda Phenaethiaid Chweched yr ysgolion. Caiff rhai aelodau o Flwyddyn 11 gyfweliad unigol er mwyn eu cefnogi a’u cynghori ar eu dewisiadau. Mae’r Cynghorydd Gyrfaoedd bob amser yn falch o gyfarfod â myfyrwyr a’u rhieni i drafod y cyfleoedd sydd ar gael.
How do we guide and support Sixth Form students?
The schools make a special effort to assist members of the Sixth Form to choose suitable courses and subjects.
Also during the first year in the Sixth Form the students have the opportunity of obtaining detailed instructions on how to adapt to the academic and social changes, which will affect them as a result of being members of the Sixth Form. The Form Tutor will help and guide students through the Sixth Form and the BAC mentor will regularly review progress during the academic year. An extensive PSE programme also helps to support a students’ development and prepare them for university, employment, apprenticeships and gap year programmes. The school counsellor is available to provide guidance for those experiencing any diffiiculties or uncertainties in their lives.
The schools provide a broad service of careers and vocational guidance. The Careers Advisor works closely with the schools and the Heads of the Sixth Form. Some members of Year 11 are interviewed individually in order to support them with their post 16+ choices. The Careers Advisor is always available to discuss possible options with students and parents.
